1Check Your Academic Eligibility

Germany requires specific entry qualifications depending on your background. Map your route:

Undergraduate (UG) Routes
  • Option A (12 Years + Studienkolleg): If applying directly after HSSC (Intermediate), complete a 1-year preparatory Studienkolleg and pass the FSP exam.
  • Option B (1 Year BS in PK): Pass 1 year of BS coursework in Pakistan to equal 13 years of German education criteria.
  • Option C (2-Year Bachelor): Holding a 2-year BSc, ADP, ADC, or BA makes you directly eligible to apply for German Bachelor entry.
Postgraduate (PG) Routes
  • 16/18 Years of Education: Direct Master entry is open if you hold a completed 4-year Bachelor or Master's degree.
  • ECTS Requirements: Check subject credit mapping on your selected university modules to ensure compatibility.

3Document Portfolio & Attestation

Align your credentials according to the strict verification standards required at the application and embassy stages:

Note: No attestations are required at the early university application stage! Verification only becomes mandatory once you enter the official Embassy visa stage.
  • Matric (SSC) & Intermediate (HSSC) Certificate & Result Card
  • Bachelor's Degree & Complete Semester Transcripts
  • IELTS Academic, TOEFL, or MOI/EPL Certificate
  • Valid Signed Passport & Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Letters of Recommendation (LORs) & Letter of Motivation (LOM)
  • Co-curricular Achievements, Internships, and Work Experience Certificates

When requested at the embassy visa stage, ensure you secure these seals:

  • Matriculation & Intermediate Degrees: Must be verified by the Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC).
  • Bachelor & Master Degrees: Must be verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
  • Note: MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) attestation is NOT required.

4Application Methods & Evaluation

German universities utilize three standard channels to process incoming international applications:

WAY 1
Direct Portal

Apply directly via the university's custom online platform.

WAY 2
Uni-Assist System

Student submits files -> Uni-Assist evaluates credentials -> University makes decision.

WAY 3
VPD Evaluation

Get VPD equivalency sheet from Uni-Assist, then apply on the direct portal.

Important: 90% of German universities process applications online. The remaining 10% require physical certified copies. Have your copies notarized by a notary public sign and stamp, then send them to your university address through Pakistan Post, TCS, or DHL.

5Consulate, Block Account, & Interview

Prepare ahead for embassy bookings and financial structures before your visa appointment date:

Booking Appointments
  • Karachi Consulate: Appointments release daily around 4:00 AM.
  • Islamabad Consulate (Punjab/KPK): Online booking is open on a First-Come, First-Served (FCFS) basis.
Block Account Strategy
  • Open your block account (with health & travel insurance included) 3 to 4 weeks before your appointment date.
  • Ensure your deposit verification arrives 2 to 3 weeks before your final visa interview.
German Visa Interview

Visa interviews are mandatory in Pakistan. Expect standard questions such as "Why Germany?", "Why this course?", and "What are your post-graduation plans?". Do not worry! Our complete interview guide and prep sessions are handled directly by the Horizon Study Abroad team.
